Synopsis: In the near future, the current Artificial Intelligence phenomenon leads to a world with a digital, unbiased judge, free of any prejudice or emotion, basing its decisions strictly on hard evidence, supposedly guaranteeing fair trials. Relying on data-driven algorithms and collecting evidence and video captures from all types of technology, this A.I. can issue a judgment quickly, accurately, and without bias. This is called the Mercy program. After a LAPD detective (Chris Pratt), who is a chief proponent of the Mercy program, is accused of murdering his wife, he is forced to convince Judge Maddox (Rebecca Ferguson), the world’s first A.I. judge, of his innocence or face execution in 90 minutes.
